Jaiyee's Little Mermaid Theme Invitations

I immediately said yes and hit the design board when a friend of mine asked me to take charge of her daughter's invitations for her baptism/first birthday bash. I really had fun creating the invites.

Jay d' Little Birthday Boy - Trishutter fold invitations

Here's my very first invitation project last August. It was for Jay's 2nd birthday bash. I also did his balloon arrangement.

Exploring My Artistic Side

So this is what have been keeping me busy all week --- creating invites. :)

Surprisingly, I recently discovered my talent in crafting (thanks to YouTube videos and blogs that kept me awake until late hours at night just to learn different designs.) I was never into Arts before. I never paint. I never draw. I never sketch. All because I'm not gifted enough to do that. But, I do appreciate ART.

I remember a funny story way back in college when my advertising instructor asked us to draw a visual for a certain organization/company. I was tasked to create a poster for Gabriela's  anti-marital rape campaign. So, I drew a woman's hand held tightly by his husband which caused her wedding ring to slipped off her finger. Everything was almost perfect when my instructor came near me and asked, "Ms. Roldan, what's that? Feet?"

I was speechless... nearly teary-eyed (haha). So, that made me realize that I can't draw -- not at all. Oh but guess what? That feet-looking-hand got the highest score in class. Good thing my instructor didn't pay much attention on the drawing but on the message of the poster (wink).

So going back, I am now into crafting. I really got addicted to it since day 1 of motherhood. I want to take photos of each milestone that my son Jacob achieves. I want to preserve it. Simply any way that I can do just to immortalize that feeling.

It's just so amazing that this addiction turned out into something profitable. Two months ago, I offered my services to some friends to do their invites for their children's baptism and (poof!) they liked it. So I guess it's a start of a good business huh? :D
